Q: Where were you born?—I was born in Wilmington, Delaware to a large, traditional Italian family in the catering business. However, Delaware was quite conservative and after a visit to LA in 1986 I met people more aligned with my beliefs and passion. Soon thereafter, I moved to explore the unlimited possibilities in The City of Angels.
Q: Where do you work, and where did you go for your job training?—I’ve had my own love consulting and production company for over 30 years in Los Angeles. I believe we all have special assignments and gifts to share with the world and this is my true calling. I am known as The Love Designer and a Relationship Reinvention expert. I consult busy executives and everyday people who are looking for their match, going through divorce, healing a broken heart or wanting to reignite the fire and passion in their existing relationship.
My initial training started out on the job while working at a hair salon a little over 30 years ago in Wilmington, Delaware. I was an Image Makeover Specialist and often found myself advising many clients on their dating and marriage woes. I was an avid reader and I began researching books like Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People and started following Leo Buscaglia, the first LOVE professor at UCLA. I was fascinated to learn all I could about love and relationships, so continued my studies in communications, TV production, marketing, psychology, and became a clinical hypnotherapist, and a certified practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Timeline Therapy. I use a combination of these powerful modalities to help people transform their old patterns and rebuild their confidence to win in the game of love…from the inside out.
Q: How were you lead to your Career?—In 1987, I moved to Santa Monica to expand my horizons as an Image Makeover Expert and Bridal Consultant. At first, I found Los Angeles to be very lonely, so I started looking for events in the community but was very disappointed. So, I decided I would become a community connector and hosted an event series called “Love Works, Community Networking Parties” and produced my first Love Works talk show interviewing experts in the field and wrote love columns for various publications like Entertainment Today and Santa Monica Observer.
My audience expanded quickly, and I was invited to teach seminars to single men about understanding women. Working with confused, single men of all ages led me to author the book Love Mechanics—Power Tools to Build Successful Relationships with Women to give them the “prince training” they didn’t receive growing up. From there, I was asked to produce a national show called Men Across America and co- hosted a popular radio show called Love on the Edge with Richard Hatch. My calling found me, and I kept expanding!
In 2001, I co-created the first nondenominational speed-dating company in the nation, Rapid Dating, and became one of the pioneers of the speed-dating industry. Watching thousands of people in all ages ranges and nationalities participate in 5-minute dates was a deep study into the minds of singles. I was traveling around the country and was featured on 75 major television networks, radio shows and publications helping to inspire people to find love.
It was very fulfilling to help thousands of people find their soulmates, yet I was still single!
I was ready and I trusted that there was a special man for me, but I was a workaholic. Then in 2002, I met my amazing husband in my hometown due to my mother’s sudden and tragic death and my life was transformed. I’ve been on a passionate quest ever since to help people Get Real slow down and balance out their lives.
We are blessed to have found each other and are here to inspire people to believe in sacred love. With an open heart, love can suddenly appear at any time or any age… I have the true stories to prove it! My latest book GET REAL About LOVE ~The Secrets to Opening Your Heart & Finding True Love was written to inspire everyone to make love a priority and help them discover what could be blocking their path to love.
